Sun. School
The 2nd Sun. School in Chakrakhali that we catch rickshaw van to is quite a bit different with older children and the group is smaller with only half the shed usable. They were playing carrom on the floor when we got there and were in general rowdier. I finally got to meet King Kor, one of the boys from the classroom* that Lonnie visits.. *they refer to it as the library. The oldest boy there was on his phone pretty much the whole time. But joined in with the singing, he didn’t need a book, he knew them all by memory.. at the end there were 2 girls playing tic-tac-toe on a phone…just quite a different setting…
When we got back to the house Lonnie laid down, said his stomach was churning… Doyle from Gopalgonj said he was vomiting… they think it’s probably from something they ate while off doing eye camp.. I sure hope so… not looking to all be taking turns feeling rough if it would be a virus🤔
Called off the afternoon service, some weren’t wanting to come in the rain and Lonnie wasn’t feeling up to it.
Power was off most of the afternoon. Living here definitely makes one not take electricity for granted! We’re thankful each morning when the power has stayed on all night or a day where it stays on all day! I think rainy season is surely worse for power outages.. when it starts raining I find myself expecting the power to go out at any minute. Sometimes it goes out before the storm reaches us..
